FAQs

If your shop is empty, how do I order?

If the In Stock and Custom sections of my shop are empty, it means my custom slots are currently full and all ready to ship items are out of stock. The best way to know when they will become available again is to follow me on Instagram @tatteredpixie. I always announce when customs close and open through there.

 

What fabric do you use for your garments?
Dresses are made mostly with a soft, stretch jersey fabric. Tatter and detail pieces are comprised of stretch laces, tulles, chiffons, mesh, cotton and other textural fabrics, most of which are white, and hand dyed to match your color choices. Other and/or specific fabrics may be available upon request, use the Contact Form to inquire.


Is Tattered Pixie a sustainable brand?
I do my best to order only the fabrics that are needed for orders to keep down consumption and overproduction of fabrics. Deadstock and/or remnants fabrics are purchased whenever possible. No fabric gets thrown away. Larger scraps are used in mini Ready to Ship collections, and any scraps that I cannot use, get donated to local art schools and/or other local creators.


Do you finish/hem your dresses?
Since the vast majority of the materials used do not fray, most hems and tatters are not finished/hemmed. This helps the garments have a more whimsical movement and flow to them. If using fabrics that do fray (such as chiffon), they are finished with a serged edge.

Are your dresses washable?

Please refer to the Garment Care page for details on if/how you can wash your dress.


Do you offer custom work?
Yes! Unless marked "Ready to Ship", most Tattered Pixie designs are custom made to your measurements and color choices. You can use the "Upgrade my Dress" listing on the Shop page for even more customization.


I also take a few commissions every year, which are brand new designs created just for you and never duplicated.

Commissions require a Contact Form entry to go over the details of the commission. More information can be found on commissions on the Product Info page.

What is the difference between a Custom and a Commission?

Custom refers to color changes and sizing of my already exsisting designs, such as my most popular Tattered Pixie Dress. 

Commissions are designs created just for you, never to be exactly duplicated. This could be anything from casual wear, original character design and alternative wedding attire. You can find more details about commissions on the Product Info page.

Can I get a different style bodice (top)?

This customization is offered within the "Upgrade My Dress" listing on the Custom section of my shop.

Can you make me this (always accompanied by a photo)?

If the photo is of your own design, then YES! I would love to! While I am happy to create a version of your sketched design and/or exsisting character, it will always include my own design style.

I will NEVER, EVER replicate another designer or artist's clothing designs.

Do you make plus sizes?

Absolutely! My main reason for offering customs is to accommodate ANY and ALL sizes.


How long before my order ships?
In Stock items, will ship 1-3 days from purchase.


All designs within the  "Custom" section will usually ship in 4-6 weeks from purchase. This is also the very first sentence in each of the listing descriptions.

Brand new, designed for you commission pieces will take much longer and require a Commission Form entry to discuss shipping timeline and details.

Can you RUSH an order?
Please use the Contact Form to inform me of your timeline details. Rush orders are not always possible since most of the fabrics used are not kept on hand.


Where do you ship from?
All dresses are created and shipped by me from my smoke free, pet friendly, home studio in Lawrence, KS, USA.

Tattered Pixie ships worldwide.


How much does shipping cost?
Shipping cost varies depending on the weight of your purchased item(s) and your location. You will be able to see shipping details at checkout before your purchase is completed.


Do you offer free shipping?
Tattered Pixie does not offer free shipping, unless otherwise stated within individual listings. 
Shipping is a separate cost from the creation of your garment. Keeping these costs separate is my way of staying transparent with exactly what you are paying for.


What shipping methods do you use?
For domestic shipping, USPS is used most often. Shipping carriers vary when it comes to international orders but may include Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc.


The tracking on my order hasn’t updated, is it lost?
Please contact me using the Contact Form we can discuss next steps.

Can I buy from a store or event?
Currently, the only way to order a Tattered Pixie piece is through tatteredpixie.com If I am vending at local events, it will be announced on my Instagram @tatteredpixie, so follow me there for the most up to date info on this.


Do you offer payment plans?
Tattered Pixie offers payment plans for anything over $500, you must contact me first to set this up using the Contact Form. Items will not ship until final payment is made.

What payment methods do you accept?
Paypal and most major credit/debit cards are accepted through the checkout page.


Are there any coupon codes?
Currently only one discount is available in exchange for a short tutorial video, use the Contact Form for more details!


Do you have tutorials on how to tie the dresses?
Any Tattered Pixie specific tutorials can be found on Instagram @tatteredpixie, though it remains a work in progress. Use the Contact Form for a code to receive a 10% discount on a Tattered Pixie Dress in exchange for a short tutorial video!


I have questions about my order, how do I contact you?
Please refer back to your order email to message me from there, or use the Contact Form for any questions you may have. Be sure to check your "Spam" and/or "Promotional" folders through your email for a response. Order  inquiries and Contact Form entries are typically answered in 12 to 24 hours from the submitted time.
